About the Author
● Midori Nishida
In 2003, she was deeply moved by the "Turkish Embroidery and Oya Exhibition" and introduced Oya in a handmade crafts magazine she was working on at the time.
Since participating in a cultural exchange tour to Turkey in 2006, she has become increasingly fascinated by Oya.
In collaboration with CRKdesign, with whom she has worked for many years, she co-authored and published "Beaded Edging Vol. 1-3" (Graphic-sha).
She has also been involved in the production of works such as "Beautiful Beaded Accessories Vol. 1-2," "Oya Accessories to Enjoy with Beads" (Takahashi Shoten), and "A Sample Book of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts (Oya)" (Takahashi Shoten).
She holds exhibitions and workshops, introducing easily made Boncuk Oya adapted for the Japanese style.
She continues cultural exchange with Turkey while working as an instructor at Vogue Academy, the Turkish Cultural Center, and other institutions.

● C・R・K Design
Since 2007, we have been researching the traditional Turkish handicraft "Boncuk Oya" as a team.
We learned that, similar to the kimono in Japan, oya scarves are no longer worn in urban areas of Turkey.
Through our work in handicrafts, we developed a strong desire to prevent the fading of handicrafts that have been nurtured in homes for generations. Hoping to contribute to spreading the beauty of even just one of the many traditional handicrafts around the world, we published a book on "Boncuk Oya" as a team and continue to spread the joy of handmade crafts through workshops and exhibitions.
Our publications include "Beaded Edging Vol. 1-3" (Graphic-sha), "Seasonal Children's Handicrafts," and "Cute Handicrafts" (Riron-sha).
We also teach oya at Vogue Academy and the Turkish Cultural Center.
