Do I really have to order a total of 20.000 JPY? Are there any exceptions?

Unfortunately yes, you have to order at least 20.000 JPY (PER SHIPMENT, which means you can do multiple orders with a lower value that will be shipped together), or we won't be able to maintain our relatively low wholesale prices. If you have troubles reaching the minimum, why not order together with some friends? :)

One exception is if you order something we do not have in stock for longer than two weeks and you decide to put the item on hold for your next order. In that case, since it is not your fault that the item was out of stock, you do not have to reach the order minimum for it to be shipped.

If you are concerned about customs and/or shipping costs, you can always contact us via e-mail at shop@nippon-chuko.co.jp and we will try our best to find a solution.

Is there anything I have to watch out for when shopping?

There are a few things you might have to look out for, especially if the item you want has not been translated into English yet.

If you are searching for something, try using the left menu first before using the search function. A lot of products are not translated into English yet, so they will not appear in search results.
Tip: If you know what you want, try to search for the barcode number instead of the name.

Watch out for items with words like OVER[number] or TORI[number] in their product number. Those are bulk sales and you have to order the number of items listed. If you do not meet the number of items, we will revert the price of the item back to normal and inform you by e-mail.

If a product has something in brackets in front of the title (something like [Order upon demand], for example), it often means we do not have the product in our storage right now. We have to order it AFTER you place your order, which means it might take a few more days (or even WEEKS, depending on the item) than normal until we can ship your order. We will inform you if it takes more than 3 days to arrive. Normally, those products are not cancelable, but if it takes significantly more than a week to arrive, we can cancel them without problems.

If you are uncertain about the number of items a unit of a product contains (especially if it is not translated) and if it is not listed on the picture or in the description, be sure to check the last number of the title. The usual order in a title is: Product number - product name - length/width - quantity per unit. If there is no number other than the length/with of a product, it usually contains only one item if not stated otherwise in the description.

Can I choose a specific delivery date?

For delivery inside of Japan:
Please enter your desired delivery date into the comment field of your order. If we cannot meet the delivery day because of your location or product readiness, we will inform you by e-mail.

For international delivery:
We are very sorry, but you cannot specify the delivery date for international orders. Nevertheless we will do anything to ship your order as quickly as we can. If there are any delays, we will contact you by e-mail.

Can I change or cancel my order (or parts of it)?

Please contact us regarding the cancellation/order change immediately. You can click on "Contact" in the upper menu or just write us an e-mail (shop@nippon-chuko.co.jp). There are certain products (order upon demand products, cut products like fabrics) that cannot be canceled.

Can I add additional items to my package after my order was placed?

If you want to add additional items, please place another order and write us a comment in the comment column, so we can ship the two parts of the order in one package. Sometimes it is not possible to combine the two orders into one parcel, so if this happens, we will contact you by e-mail.

What do I have to do if I did not receive all my items or if something was damaged?

Please contact us immediately. We will send you a replacement as soon as possible.

Do I get a refund if I return some items?

If you want to return a product because of your own circumstances (not what you imagined, etc.), you have to pay the full shipping cost when returning the product. You cannot return a product in the following cases:

*Cut items (from a bolt or roll)
*Opened and/or used items
*Items that were damaged after they reached you
*Items that are incomplete (missing leaflet or missing small parts)
*Items on sale

Can you put my order on hold for some time?

We can put your order on hold up to 2 weeks. If we are putting your order on hold because out of stock items though, there is no 2 week limit - the order will be put on hold until your items will be available.

If you want your items to be on hold, please write us a message including the day you want your items shipped in the comment field of your order. However, if more than 2 weeks pass, we will ship your items after sending you a notification via e-mail.

*Please be careful when putting your order on hold at the end of a month. In some cases the price of a product might change during that time.
