About the Author

Harumi Maruyama

After graduating from the Apparel Design Department of Bunka Fashion College, Harumi Maruyama worked as an instructor at the college before becoming a freelance designer.

Her published works include "Kimono Remake Perfect BOOK" (Nihon Vogue-sha) and "Making Clothes with Senior Basic Patterns Changes Everything!" (Bunka Publishing Bureau). She also supervised the "Pattern Juku" series (Bunka Publishing Bureau).

In addition to providing technical explanations on garment making, design, and production for magazines, she also sells original patterns through "Handmade Company."

She runs "Harumi Maruyama’s Pattern Juku," a clothing-making class focused on creating garments from patterns, and shares her expertise through Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms. Through these activities, she promotes comfortable, well-balanced clothing design and spreads the joy of handmade sewing.
