The British Museum x DMC Cross Stitch Kits series is a kit that recreates masterpieces by the British Museum and DMC in London.
Katsushika Hokusai "Behind the Wave Off the coast of Kanagawa"
Katsushika Hokusai -The Great Wave-
This embroidery kit allows you to enjoy a world-renowned masterpiece that is filled with a heavy and elegant atmosphere, using a DMC color palette that faithfully reproduces the original artwork, and is fully immersed in a cross-stitch style.
By converting Katsushika Hokusai's iconic woodblock prints into cross stitches with embroidery number 25, you can experience the artwork in a new way. This print was originally published between 1829 and 1933, during the late Edo period. This is the first installment of Hokusai's 36 Views of Mount Fuji series. The Great Wave has gained praise and popularity across the West.
The British Museum opened in 1759 and became one of the most famous and most visited museums in the world. The museum's extensive collection includes around 8 million items covering two million years of human history. The widespread collection of the items during the British Empire makes it the largest and most comprehensive of all existing collections.
